The US Drug Enforcement Agency considers cannabis a Schedule 1 drug.
Schedule 1 drugs are not considered for legitimate medical use.
Other Schedule 1 drugs include crack, heroin, PGP. & LSD
According to the DEA: "Smoked Marijuana has not withstood the rigors of science - it is not medicine and it is not safe."

According to the F.D.A: "No scientific studies support medical use of treatment in the United States and no animal or human data supports the safety or efficacy of marijuana for general medical use."

They are LYING! No doubt about it.
The Federal Government knows cannabis is safe and effective medicine.
In 2003, Patent #6630507 : "Cannabis as Antioxidants and Neuroprotectants" was awarded to the Department of health and human Services.
They have been lying for a long time.
But don't believe the hype.
In 1978, the Federal Government established the Compassionate Use Program which provides 300 cannabis cigarettes per month to sick and dying patients. And in 2006, the National Institutes of health released " The Endocannabinoid System as an Emerging Target of Pharmacotheray."
The report states that cannabis is effective in treating mood and anxiety disorders, movement disorders such as Parkinson's and huntington's disease, neuropathic pain, multiple selerosis and spinal cord injury, to cancer, atherosclerosis, myocardial infraction, stroke, hypertension, glaucoma, obesity/metabolic syndrome and osteoporosis, to name just a few..

Big Pharma holds over 27 patents on the medicinal use of cannabis...
They use these patents to restrict its use and to ensure their profits.
